The Monkeys Paw…

The monkeys paw,
It does not wait.
It tells the future,
It gives the date.
It’s twisted up,
In old mens fate.

Don’t say to me,
You do not quiver,
When crossing the log,
On your self-made river.

There is a balance,
You must pay the price.
Once is for learning,
Hardship’s for twice,
Then after that,
It’s a roll of the dice.

Don’t say to me,
You do not ache,
When others suffer,
By your mistake.

Do you want to gamble?
Do you think it’s a game?
Have you lost reality?
Have you given fantasy its name?
The truth is the answer.
It will always be the same.

Are you…

Peace sings to me on wind swept days,
When all the world is full of rage.
While only the old lady wears a smile,
For she’d watched it grow to this age.

She asks:
“Are you the hopeful, living in a dream,
While others grow rich till they bust a seam?”

“Or are you the children we told you about,
That would grow up strong, but instead grew stout?”

“There’s time to listen and time to grow,
But first, dear children, you must identify the foe…”

Only in Dreams….

With winds of time,
I sail the seas.
I see the torment,
I hear the pleas,
I feel the anguish,
On bended knees.

Oh, find in me,
My souls domain,
That I haven’t lived,
It all in vain.
That it hasn’t been,
A mere moment insane.

Oh, see the light on yonder hill,
Does it shine for me and all to be?
Does it lift us up from deep despair?
Does it show a path that we can share?
For if it doesn’t, then we are doomed.
And only in dreams are we exhumed.

The Beauty of the Arts….

By words one transmits thoughts to another,
by means of art,
one transmits feelings.
