Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned. - Buddha
Hold the Cure
Through the depths of conscious thinking
Comes the seedlings of our inner glow.
With the questions come the answers
What we need is what we soon will know.
Fly the clouds to cities of dreamland
Feel the breezes of discontent
See the distant truth arising
In the form of a new confident.
Throw your joys in a fond embrace.
Touch your life with a bouquet so pure.
See compassion fill every chamber
Know your heart must hold the cure.

Thirst of Time
Ah, in the stream of everyday dreams,
I find a glimmer, shine on me.
Coming through for all to see,
I give what I can and then let it be.
I feel the thirst of time and trouble.
People living with hearts of rubble.
But, in them too, I see a light.
It flickers small, though potentially bright.
I reach my hand to pull through the night.
We are the children of this great world.
Greed has blinded and made us fooled.
Compassion is the master key.
Nothing matters but you and me.

Pressure
My mind is scattered,
As salt across the table.
Seeing lies that others play.
Living in some distorted fable.
Trying to be so calm and stable.
There’s pressure on my mind.
There’s pressure from behind.
I wanna let it go.
I wanna let it flow.
Follow my inner heart to know.
There’s pressure inner-twined.
I’m gonna trust the inner voice I hear.
I’m gonna step on forward without no fear.
I’m gonna take it down the road.
I’m gonna be a little bold.
Can’t do this pressure.
Gotta let it go,
Gotta start to soar,
Gotta close the door.
Think I’m seeing a brand new light.
Gonna slow it down, gonna do all right.
Can’t stand this pressure.
Gotta let it be.
It’s not for me.
Times right, you see.
There’s pressure on my mind.
There’s pressure from behind.
Won’t do this pressure.

Nutrition rule of thumb says do not eat anything your great-great grandmother would not recognize as food.
From Rule of Thumb Calander
Parable of Happiness
Parables of happiness
That sounds so quaint, to me,
However, parables of any type
Fill my heart with glee.
They remind me of an old lady,
She had barely money for tea
She grew all of her own food,
And served the Lord on bended knee.
One day while tending her garden,
A stranger rode her way,
He stopped to water his horse
And eat… but he couldn’t pay.
Well, that wise old lady knew,
Friendship’s what keeps away the cold,
Her young, charming, visitor
Was easing her lonesome load.
They talked and laughed the day away,
She made a place he could sleep the night.
She fed him porridge in the morning
So he could leave at early light.
She then pleasantly hummed and smiled all day,
Happy in memories they had shared,
For gold is found in our friendships
It’s given in the amount we cared.
Now, as our young traveler rode on,
He stopped at another old lady’s, the next day,
She chased him off with her garden rake,
She had nothing nice to say.
As she watched him go riding down the road,
Tears started to fill her eyes,
She was miserable and unhappy,
She couldn’t trust… he might tell lies.
So, if you happen upon the chance,
To share time and make a friend,
Don’t live in fear and hostility,
Let your garden be ready to tend.

Why is it that when you transport something by car it is called a shipment but when you transport something by ship it is called cargo?

Dear Friend
Oh, dear friend,
I’m worn,
I’m torn,
I’m exhausted,
And forlorn.
I’m misused,
And abused,
Over scheduled,
And a bit confused.
I’m on the ledge,
Right at the edge,
I feel my spirit,
About to be dredged.
So, dear friend,
When you gave your smile,
You gave me the gift,
Of another mile.
You pulled me up,
From my self-made despair,
You didn’t know,
But, you gave me new air.
So, I’ll pass it on,
I’ll ease another’s sigh,
That’s what friends do,
And never wonder why.
