Organza Curtains

Organza curtains,
Flowing in the breeze.
Muffled voices,
Making me freeze.

Darkened chambers,
Of the heart.
Ballerina dancing,
In the love we sought.

Castles merging,
In our minds eye.
We’re looking for answers,
Without asking why.

Surges of color,
Filtering our past.
Letting go of the ego,
Relaxing at last.

I’ve decided to develop some new hobbies, after coming upon the following quote of Hanks….

Don’t cheat yourself by working primarily for a paycheck. If what you do with your life free-of-charge is so worthless to you that you’d be convinced to do something else in exchange for a little money or fame, you need better hobbies.    Henry David Thoreau

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.

Cornflowers and Lies

Cornflowers grow
So, sweetly blue
They make me remember,
When our love was true.

Before the heartaches,
Before the truth and lies.
It was a feeling of fullness,
Oh, how time flies.

Now, we walk strongly
On different paths.
We’re still full of caring,
But we’ve lost the laughs.

Oh, they could grow.
It could be good again.
But the truth and the lies,
They’ve worn us thin.

We’re not the same people,
We’ve grown and changed.
We won’t give in to each other,
We won’t be rearranged.

So, a tip of the hat to you.
May your life go well.
May you get what you’re deserving,
For you’ll certainly go to heaven.

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Anger Ain’t No Good For Havin’ Kicks

Does your ego need padding?
Well, I’m not gonna jump the hoop.
I’m stayin’ on the outskirts .
Gonna watch ‘em race the ol’ sloop.
Don’t do the games or play the doop.

When you figure out your feelings,
You give me a call.
Till then, Darlin’.,
I’ve gotta keep on the ball.
Yeah, later, I’ll see you all…

So, whatever’s troublin’ you,
You better get it fixed.
There’s no one smiling back at me
Mad and sad are easily mixed.
And anger ain’t no good for havin’ kicks.

You can look at life in wonder,
Or you can look at life in pain,
You can choose negative or positive,
You can even live life in vain,
But, if you choose integrity, it’ll never be the same.

So let your ego go…
you don’t need it no more…
Really, what are you keepin’ it for?
Just open up and shove it out the door.
It’s your inner pride, your spirit, not your ego.
So, flow…..let it go…

Oh, yeah…that inner pride,
It comes from that integrity.
It’s havin’ nothing to hide,
It’s setting your heart and soul free,
It’s letting people love you…like me.

The difference between an American and an Englishman… [is that] An Englishman thinks a hundred miles is a long way; an American thinks a hundred years is a long time.– Diana Gabaldon, “Drums of Autumn”

This is an interesting site to check out on Earth Day…it put a perspective on our lifestyle quite rapidly.

Note that this was written in 1887…we haven’t done so well either…perhaps the next generation…

Each generation takes the Earth as trustees. We ought to bequeath to posterity as many forests and orchards as we have exhausted and consumed.

Each Others Moon

When a woman hurts,
She moans and wails.
She rocks and pleads,
And tells her tales.

When a man hurts,
It’s not much the same.
His throat rips silently,
And his gut fills with pain.

Now, how can these two ever be?
Take a moment…
Step back and see…
It’s really no big mystery.

Everything’s a circle.
We’re merely the two sides.
We fit perfectly together,
If our fears don’t reside.

It’s a learning lesson,
We’ve got to understand.
It’s bringing two styles together,
It’s being a woman and a man.

It’s becoming whole.
It’s learning more.
It’s seeing the heart of another.
It’s being a friend more than a lover.

So, let me take you swirling,
Let me harmonize the tune.
Let us feel a peaceful tomorrow
Let us be each others moon.
