My Friend, My Confidant, My Warrior

Dear sweet one
Probably is presumable
It’s as close to truth
As knowing your soul.

And those emotions
That you put out at me
They’re only ego games
They’re not real, don’t you see.

Our true feelings
Our heart, spirit and soul
They aren’t involved with wild emotions
They love everything and flow.

Don’t confuse love and caring
For emotions of anger and lust
They’re centered on ego and judgment
And let go of them, we must.

Feelings of deepness surge through me
When emotions aren’t in control
It runs deeper than emotional outbursts
It’s love with an endless flow.

Relax and laugh in our friendship
I have no reason to hurt you
You’re my friend, my confidant, my warrior.
Laugh at me (I know I’m odd), and let me laugh at you.

There seem to two kinds of searchers: those who seek to make their ego something other than it is, i.e. holy, happy, unselfish (as though you could make a fish unfish), and those who understand that all such attempts are just gesticulation and play-acting, that there is only one thing that can be done, which is to disidentify themselves with the ego, by realizing its unreality, and by becoming aware of their eternal identity with pure being.

Of the “pale blue dot,” astronomer Carl Sagan said, “That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every ’superstar,’ every ’supreme leader,’ every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there — on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.”

There are moments when one feels free from one’s own identification with human limitations and inadequacies. At such moments one imagines that one stands on some spot of a small planet, gazing in amazement at the cold yet profoundly moving beauty of the eternal, the unfathomable; life and death flow into one, and there is neither evolution nor destiny; only Being.

All the evil in the world, and all the unhappiness, comes from the I-concept.

  • “Say not, “I have found the truth,” but rather, “I have found a truth.” Say not, “I have found the path of the soul.” Say rather, “I have met the soul walking upon my path.” For the soul walks upon all paths. The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed. The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals.”

The Empty Vessel

The empty vessel
That may still be drawn from
Without ever needing to be filled.
That, my friend, that is the ‘one’.

The empty vessel…
No baggage.
No expectations.
No judgments.
No regulations.

That may still be drawn from…
Giving, listening.
A friend in heart.
Sharing, caring.
Spirit and thought.

Without ever needing to be filled…
You get back
What you give.
You are happy within.
You help others live.

It’s all one…
You and me…
A purpose to care…
For he and she.
Time to share…
Circle around…
It’s all together..
Truth is found.
